Thanks Y'all

I have to say thanks for everyone's support this last week. My huge emotional breakdowns are usually only something that Peter sees, so I hope you all enjoyed the show :)

As frustrating as the lack of coordinated care was at CHOP, I have to give credit where credit is due, and say that the nurses and speech team at CHOP were fantastic. It was difficult to have a different nurse every day, but each nurse was considerate and focused. But let's be honest-- they just didn't love her as much as her CCH nurses and that's hard.

And the speech team, once we were all on the same page, was great. They were focused and excited for her progress. We will be having another swallow study done in eight weeks with her speech therapist, and I'm genuinely excited to see them again.

Again, thanks for the support. This whole ordeal is getting old. Someone please tell Charlotte we're all ready for her to come home. Thanks!

  1. She is looking so big and beautiful! Her eyes are gorgeous and her head is so nice and round-- not toastery at all :) She looks like a baby girl who is thinking that maybe it is getting to be time to come home.

  3. I found your blog through the yahoo micropreemie message board. My son, Brandon, was born at 26 weeks, 1 day. He turned 2 in the beginning of July. He was transferred to CHOP when he was 2 months old because he had ROP and possibly needed the laser surgery which our NICU didn't do. He never needed the surgery since it resolved on its own but we were at CHOP for 2 weeks because they were watching him to see how his eyes were. I agree with what you said about CHOP. It was very hard being there after being at our local hospital which I loved and having primary nurses. I too didn't like that he had a different nurse everyday and also had meltdowns. I also felt like they didn't love him as much as his nurses from Monmouth had.

  4. So I've fallen behind on this blog, but what a wonderful post to welcome me back. I'm so happy, along with everyone else, that Charlotte will be going home with you later on today. What a miracle. These two pictures of her in the hot pink dress are very darling. She really looks healthy. It's about time her body caught up with her strong spirit. Congratulations again, and we send you our warmest wishes. - Ann Muldowney
